1.en.32 Interesting lives, famous people and role models: Chenoa’s talk

This term we have been working on biographies and we have also met face to face some people with interesting lives; Chema Caballero and Ramón Lobo were two of them. You have had the opportunity to ask them questions and to listen to them talking  about their experiences. Yesterday Chenoa, a famous singer and former student of the Ramon Llull, came to visit us and you had the opportunity to attend her talk.

You know that we believe outings and talks are also a way of learning, so after the talk you were asked to write  three comments on the three meetings and talks you went to this term. I am very happy with the result. Most of you did a great job and your writings were really good. I feel you managed to grasp the essence of Chenoa’s talk. Unfortunately, I was not there  but after reading  your comments, I  feel I can say that everyone  liked Chenoa very much and learnt a lot from her.

As far as  accuracy, you just need to  polish your grammar, spelling and  improve the way you structure your ideas a bit. I’ ll wait for your comments on her talk, here in the blog before tomorrow Thursday 25th .  This way we’ll be able to read everyone’s contributions and I will choose a sentence from each composition to make a kind of collage of  Chenoa’s visit to the Ramon Llull.

  1. Does Chenoa fit in the stereotype of a celebrity? Why? Why not?
  2. Would you describe her as  an approachable or as a distant person?  /əˈproʊtʃəbəl/
  3. Did she sound artificial or natural?
  4. Did she tell you any anecdote you liked?
  5. Do you think she is a good role model for teenagers?
  6. Was she very different from the idea you had of her from TV and magazines?
  7. What is her song you like best?
  8. Can you see your group in the pic? Where were you situated in the music room?

Homework: Thursday 25th ,Post your compositions and your answers to the 8 questions to the blog. First year students will use your compositions as models, so try to correct your writings before posting them to the blog.

Here you can see your new students. Let’s see if your new role as teachers  suits you. You might give me a break and I can start  Christmas vacations just now!

Laura Corradini Chenoa, in our school.

This morning Chenoa came to our school, who is a famous singer. She is from Argentina.
She was Ramon Llull’s former student. Ahe told us about herself, and her life.
She was a good student, she passed all subjects, but the bad thing was that she repeated 1st, because she felt alone.

When she was a teenager, she liked music very much. Ahe went to ballet class, “solfeo”(voice) class…
She was an educator, a teacher of 2 and 3 year old students.

One day, she called to an add that she saw on TV. The add said this: ” Quieres ser famoso, llama ya” (Do you want to be famous, call now.
After 3 days the advertisers called her to a casting.

She did not said anything to her family, and she left the work of teacher, before knowing that she had been selected.
And then she jumped to fame, that is how she became famous.

She told us some anecdotes, some were funny like the one, that in a magazine somebody wrote the list of the things that Chenoa had bought. Terrible!!!

I liked very much the talk, I learnt many things.
Sehe is very famous and popular. She signed us an autograph. I felt good.

Today in maths class, we went to the “Aula Magna” to listen to a conference about Chenoa. This person was a former student at the Ramon Llull. She is a very famous singer and she told us some anecdotes.
When she was a student in Ramon Llull, she was a very bad girl. She repeated one year. One day, the parents of Chenoa watched her daughter smoking in the square.
She is a very friendly person with her fans. Sometimes she doesn’t like very much the comments of some people, because they do not tell real things.
Hes family for her is very important. Her grandmother, her mother and Chenoa song very well. Chenoa always sings when she is not on stage. When she was little, she danced ballet like me, but the teacher always put Chenoa behind the class because says “ Do you not have good body”.
One day, when she was at Ramon Llull, she went outside the school to a bar, and the teacher went there to searched.
I think she is a good person and has a strong personality. She is beautiful and I like her songs. I liked very much this conference because I learnt more things about the life of a famous person.

    CHENOA
Today Chenoa came to the high schoolto talk about her experience, here in the Ramon Llull 20 years ago. She told us that studing is so important and howyou have to be yourself, and do the things that you like, have a “hero” to inspire you. She said one sentence that for me is very inteligent: ” the silence is an opinion”. She said too that to have fame you have to work so hard and try to be the best. She loves her fans, at Cristhmas her fans send to her gifts and then she sends a photo that she’s with the gifts.
My opinion is that she’s a very inteligent person who’s normal “una persona de calle” like she said. It was funny this talk.

    Chenoa

Chenoa is not as the stereotype of a TV famous girl: A little bit repelent, sometimes they hate
    their fans…
Chenoa is very different, she’s like us.
She’s very beautiful, funny and cheerful. She studied in the Ramon Llull and she repeated a grade.
She had Maria and Emili as teachers.
She talked to us about how she become famous and the problems of being famous: They think a friend of yours is your boyfriend, or the talk badly about you, etc.
She’s not Chenoa, she’s Laura Corradini, but Chenoa is her artistic name.
She thinks that fans are not cray people and she loves them.
Finally, we took two or three photos with her and some students asked her for an autograph.

I liked very much because she told a lot of jokes and funny comments. She is a very happy person because she works doing what she likes most, the music.

She is a very good singer, and like all the singers and artists, she has another name, other than her real one that is Laura Corradini. The people that work with art have this artist names because they needs one to do all the public things, the informal one. It must to be a good sounding one, a new one that never anyone hear it.

She was a little bit rebel in the high-school but she was a very good student. She repeated once but than she promised to her parents that she’d “gonna be” a very good student.

Her parents told her that if she did not get better better marks she couldn’t do music and she couldn’t be a famous singer. Before to be a singer, she was a ballet dancer but she decided to change the ballet for the music.

Chenoa, the famous singer, was a former student of Ramon Llull, and today she explained her childhood in the high school and how she become a famous singer.

She had good marks but her behaviour was not always very good, haha!

Chenoa when she was 20 years old worked with children, as a teacher, and in the night she worked singing in the casino of Mallorca.

One day she saw on tv the casting of O.T. And she telephoned to take part in the casting. She went to Valencia, and she was acceptded. And she become a very famous singer in Spain and all over the world.

    Chenoa’s composition…
    By Daryl Jade

We were in Spanish lesson, when Emili told us that we were going to go to a talk of Chenoa. We went downstairs and we went to the Aula Magna. And there we met her.
My first impression from her is that she was smily and a kind of joker.
She told us that she studied at Ramon Llull high school. She had a lot of annecdotes from her high school student times. When she finished der studies in high school, she went to study pre-school Education. In six years, she was working in the morning being teacher and at night til twelve o’clock she worked singing in a Casino. One night, she was in her own house, she saw an add about a singing contest, Operación Triunfo. She called out there and she left her information. After three days, someone from the singing contest , asked her if she wanted to go in Valencia to do casting. She had a lot of castings and finally she could enter in the contest
Since she was a little girl, her hobbies were dancing, painting and also singing.
After she be came famous, she didn’t want to be famous. For her it was a chance to learn how to sing and to dance.
For me, she is a bave woman, hard working and independent. She is one of my inspitçrations.
